Participants are chosen through a highly selective process, ensuring that each intern embodies the dedication and excellence Broadway Dreams represents.
Internships come with a clear set of weekly responsibilities that demand precision, professionalism, and a strong work ethic. In recognition of this commitment, participation in the program is offered free of charge.

Performance Intern
Performance Internship
The Performance Internship is a leadership role designed for performers with advanced experience and a proven ability to take on high levels of responsibility.
Performance Interns are paired with a Broadway Dreams faculty or staff member as their direct mentor, ensuring guidance and support throughout the program.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting faculty members with classroom activities and production needs.
- Taking detailed notes during sessions to support faculty and students.
- Coordinating and managing students to ensure smooth transitions between activities (“student wrangling”).
- Supporting daily scheduling and program logistics.
- Completing additional administrative and production tasks as required.
As leaders within the Broadway Dreams community, Performance Interns are expected to exemplify professionalism, dedication, and excellence, serving as role models and mentors for all participants. This role is both a significant responsibility and a unique opportunity to further develop leadership and performance skills while making meaningful contributions to the program’s success.
Directing Internship
Directing Internship
The Directing Internship is a leadership opportunity designed for individuals actively pursuing theatrical direction, with a demonstrated level of moderate to advanced experience.
Directing Interns work closely with Broadway Dreams faculty, gaining hands-on experience in the creative process while assisting with:
- Developing and staging musical numbers.
- Supporting faculty in the rehearsal process.
- Performing essential administrative and production tasks as needed.
This internship offers a highly selective and immersive experience. It is ideal for aspiring directors eager to refine their craft, build professional networks, and contribute meaningfully to the artistic vision of Broadway Dreams.
Musical Direction Internship
Musical Direction Internship
The Musical Direction Internship is a leadership role tailored for musicians and aspiring musical directors with advanced piano skills, the ability to accompany and to sight read musical notation. Ideal candidates will also have experience in musical arrangement, copying, and transposition.
Musical Direction Interns will work closely with Broadway Dreams Musical Directors and Accompanists, assisting in class and rehearsal settings. Key responsibilities include:
- Annotating and developing musical arrangements.
- Preparing and making musical copies.
- Supporting rehearsals and assisting with other production tasks as needed.

The Choreography Internship is a leadership opportunity designed for individuals in dance or choreography, requiring advanced experience and a strong sense of responsibility.
Choreography Interns work under the mentorship of Broadway Dreams faculty, gaining invaluable, hands-on experience in the field. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the development, rehearsal, and staging of dance numbers.
- Providing support during choreography sessions.
- Handling administrative and production tasks as needed to ensure the seamless execution of each performance.

Social Media & Marketing Internship
Social Media & Marketing Internship
The Social Media & Marketing Internship is designed for individuals with a strong understanding or and passion for digital storytelling, branding, and content creation.
Social Media & Marketing Interns work with Broadway Dreams’ staff to create and execute compelling content and marketing initiatives that educate, generate new business, and inspire the next generation of Dreamers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist with photography and content capture during Broadway Dreams Intensives, rehearsals, and events
- Support the execution of daily social media content
- Support marketing initiatives, including email newsletters, announcements, and promotional materials
- Assist with basic photo and video editing, including trimming clips, adding captions, and formatting content for social media
- Utilise tools such as Canva and basic video editing platforms to prepare content for posting
- Support on-site content needs and day-to-day marketing execution
Company Manangement Internship
Company Management Internship
The Company Management Internship is a leadership opportunity designed for Interns interested in theatrical management, production, and nonprofit administration. This role requires exceptional organisational skills, a high level of responsibility, and a keen attention to detail.
Company Management Interns will work closely with the Broadway Dreams Company Manager, General Manager, Executive Director, and collaborate with venue staff and stage managers to coordinate logistics and schedules. Responsibilities include:
- Communicating effectively with participants, parents, and staff.
- Assisting in the execution of daily operations.
- Performing various administrative tasks as needed to support the program.

At Broadway Dreams, our mission is to dismantle the barriers that stand between talented young people and their dreams in the performing arts. As a charitble trust, we strive to provide youth and young adults of all socioeconomic backgrounds with performance training, life skills building, and mentorship opportunities.
We aim to provide up to 40% of participants a full or partial scholarship so that every Dreamer has the opportunity to access high quality support through intensives, which prepare them artistically and helps to build connections and a pathway to their success in the arts. If financial barriers stand in your way, we’d love to assist.
